Elizabeth Jordan aims to facilitate social change through photography. Her pictures — depicting the plight of people in war torn and developing countries have been featured around the world. Her most recent show was held at Urban Zen last month. In addition to raising awareness, 100% of Jordan’s profits go to charity giving her collectors the opportunity to participate in the philanthropic arena.

Many of her images focus on the silhouettes of African women carrying unimaginably large loads on their heads. Here as well, she aims to draw on the metaphoric as well as physical task, outlining the weight women carry on their heads and in life.

The remarkable colors in her photographs have been exag--gerated often to surreal heights, the content of the images are never touched.
